Tooleybuc
The most relaxing Adelaide–Sydney stopover point, and a welcoming destination for all.
Popular for its riverside location, the area is also rich in industry from large-scale dry land cereal and livestock production, to small intensive horticulture, wineries and tourist businesses. It’s a vibrant community with plenty of attractions to explore, including the historic Tooleybuc Bridge built in 1925. The region has recently experienced significant growth through production of almond and pistachio nuts.
Tooleybuc boasts a number of beautifully maintained parks along the river that make for fabulous lunch or rest stops with plenty of amusement on offer for the kids. It’s also a great part of the world to visit with your boat and fishing rod, featuring a community boat ramp in operation near the centre of town.

- Cast a line in the Murray: Fishing in Tooleybuc is perfect for all levels of angler experience, from the beginner to the most experienced.
- Tee off on the Murray: There’s a picturesque nine-hole golf course with river views at the Tooleybuc Sporting Club that golfers of all standards will enjoy. The club also houses a collection of tiff dwarf grass bowling greens. Be sure to check out the latest events as visitors are always welcome to join the field and play with the locals.
- Wine tasting amongst the vines: Drop into Andrew Peace Wines Cellar Door, one of Australia’s largest family-owned wineries. Indulge your senses as the vineyard comes alive with shades of red and gold, providing the perfect backdrop for wine tastings.
- Wander along the Murray: Take a leisurely stroll along the Tooleybuc River Walk, an easy and peaceful 1.7km walk that takes you from the historic bridge to the Tooleybuc Golf Club.
- Authentic local culinary delights: Indulge your taste buds in the seasonal flavours on offer at the Tooleybuc Country Club Hotel, where a conscious effort is made to provide a paddock-to-plate menu, shining a spotlight on local fresh produce.



- Picnic in the park: Pack a picnic basket and head to Mensforth Park. Perfectly situated on the Murray River’s edge, the park features a brand new children’s playground, outdoor kitchen, BBQs and an undercover deck area at the nearby Bridge Keepers Cottage.
- Be amazed at the second largest Mallee Root: The Giant Mallee Root is the biggest stump in NSW and the second largest in the World according to the Guinness World Records! Learn all about the rare and endangered Dinosaur Ant. Both are on display at the Tooleybuc Sports Club.
- Celebrate historic engineering: Built in 1925, the heritage-listed Tooleybuc Bridge is a timber truss and steel lift-span bridge over the Murray River. The bridge is of technical significance for its sophisticated design and construction. It was the last of a series of bridges over the Murray River that incorporated central lift spans with innovative truss spans, which still operate today.
- Unique photography opportunities: Head 35 minutes north of Tooleybuc and you’ll find Yanga National Park. Where rustic charm and historical significance collide, explore the history of Yanga National Park’s pastoral and Aboriginal heritage at the historic homestead. Lake Yanga is perfect for birdwatchers and photographers will find Yanga National Park a treasure trove of inspiration.
